It's ridiculous at 3 notches in its current state. You could make a case for 5 (Again, not a case I would agree with, but you could make that case.). This charm should be 4 notches no questions asked. But Shaman Stone is a meta charm that you can get without even setting foot in the Fungal Wastes. There are other charms that you could argue are more powerful (We'll touch on those.). It makes landing spells easier, and it increases their damage by upwards of 50%. Shaman stone is a contender for one of the most powerful charms in the game, AND you can get it as early as Mothwing Cloak (Excluding shade skip.). I honestly can't believe this made it into the final game at its current notch cost, and then managed to survive several updates without a change. Extra soul is definitely a useful thing to have, but it isn't so powerful that it will completely carry you. I'm going to combine these two charms into one category since their effects are so similar.Īgain, very well balanced. Making this charm any more expensive would make it even more useless in the grand scheme of things, but making it any cheaper would further encourage those harmful playstyles. And by "Very gimmicky", I of course mean that they reward bad players for getting hit. Think Quick Focus, Quick Slash, Strength, etc.). The exception to the rule is some VERY gimmicky playstyles (Some healing and nail builds. Chain-hits are definitely a danger in this game, but they're almost never common enough to dedicate a charm to. This is where it starts to get a little tricky. Giving up a single notch is a pretty good deal for how much time it saves you (Assuming you're not completely ignoring natural geo in leu of things like boss chests and trials.). This charm is more of a convenience than an actual utility. Making it any more expensive would be too punishing for new players who rely on it. You could even make a case that this charm should be free, working similarly to something like the Quill (It's not a case I'd agree with, but it's a case you could make.). A charm that's friendly to beginners but is objectively useless to anyone who understands their way through the world. Feel free to check back here for explanations.
